Now although it is true that we do have the free choice to decide what we want to buy or not. However there have been instances in the past where parents just blindly buy games, simply because little Billy or little Sally wanted it. Then when something bad happens say a child shoots another child, then you have this whole media frenzy just because they may have played a game they shouldn't have because of ratings. That's why there are a ton of games that you might not even know about that never get released here. If they are they are heavily censored.

Aside from the kiddy porn (something I think we all agree that shouldn't be allowed at all) there's a number of factors that have contributed to this problem and allowed it to get out of control. As Spystreak mentions that parents blindly buy games for their kids. What ever happened to parenting? Parents are supposed to watch over their kids, especially when they young as that is a critical time in terms of building up their social skills/values. The TV can't raise your children, and for those that think it can they have no ground on which to stand on why their kids behave so uncontrollably. Parents in general also need to make an effort to understand the computer better so that they're not so naive about what their kids are doing on the computer.

PC or DS is a tough choice. I grew up playing on the NES and SNES and many of the games still have a warm place in my heart for their memories. The GB and DS have been a godsend to get the fix needed to play some of those old classics. Overall though, I like PC's most with their (though limited flexibility) to play a very wide range of games spanning over a decade in some cases.

I can't stand companies that insist on re-dubbing song's into English. It ruins the artistic value that the original singers put so much effort into. I find it akin to colorizing classic black and white movies like Casablanca or Citizen Kane just because some people find watching a movie that isn't in color annoying. To intentionally change someone's artwork (whether it be song, film or otherwise) just seems disrespectfull to the original artist.

Depends on the show and how tired I am. If its a show that isn't using really complicated speech I'll watch the Japanese. If I'm tired or just lazy will turn the subtitles on. Shows like Ai Yori Aoishi were easy to watch in raw format, but Azumanga Daioh was impossible to follow with the speed some of the characters talked at and I'd always miss the pun in some of their jokes.

Dirty Pair TV series: Perfect combination of action, sci fi and comedy. The characters are great and the supporting cast with Mughi (the huge cat) and the robot are a perfect compliment.

Urusei Yatsura: Though nearly 300 episodes is a timeless anime. Every episode had something new or strange twist that kept interest through the whole series.

Kimagure Orange Road: Some of the best characters (Madoko and Jingoro) and really deep character development and plot. Each time I watch it still can stir up emotions as Kyosuke messes things up and the spots of comic relief provided by the rest of the cast.

Lupin III Castle of Cagliostro: First and still my favorite Lupin movie ever made. Had all the great elements of the Lupin TV series; but had a great story and artwork courtesy of Miyazaki's help with the movie.

Macross (NOT Robotech): While growing up I remember seeing Robotech on TV and was fascinated by it. Then years later when I was able to see Macross uncut, it was like watching a completely different series. Everything made much more sense and all characters were developed much more than in Robotech. Only thing I still get sick of is hearing Min Mei sing, even in Japanese I skip over anypart where she is singing.

Have't personally had the time yet to watch Gundam Seed (on my huge backlog of anime to watch, I love the artwork I've seen from it), seen all the rest save that one so far. Favorite one still has to be 0083, has great characters and a well developed plot.

Last night I posted a scan of a phone card that I've got from Ai Yori Aoishi:

In the description I thought I made it clear that I scanned the image, its a rather rare phone card that I personally haven't seen scanned anywhere else. Without being able to view the page, I thought it was implicitly stated that when I mentioned that I had not touched up the scan or done any image editing (something to that effect) and that it naturally almost approximated the right dimensions for a widescreen monitor. I thought it would be understood that it was my scan from the language (and I also thought I said it was my scan in the first sentence).

I've got many rare or (now) expensive phone cards that anyone who doesn't own one, is unlikely to ever see the image anywhere unless its on auction. While this one isn't the rarest one I've got, its still around $100 and hard to find unless you're living in Japan and have time to walk search through all the shops to find one. If there is still doubt as to whether its my scan or not, I can take a picture with a digital camera of the card sitting on my monitor with this thread behind it, or next to some other original artwork that I own that cannot be found anywhere on the internet.

I had to adjust my scanner setting several times in order to get the scan to come out looking like the card. Several were too light, or had the wrong source settings and came out looking with the annoying dots on the scan that makes it look like its a piece of sandpaper. The image itself is completely untouched (save the initial scanner settings to get it to come out right, I've got an older scanner), and none of the names were removed from the image. The first name on the bottom is Fumizuki, but can't make out the second one. If I need to edit the description to more clearly reflect that I scanned the image and source I can do so.

P.S. The message I received said that the moderators for this to be directed to were saikusa, marissa, and Revan.

Not sure why the link to the image isn't showing up correctly, here is a proper link to the image.
